Growing up in Seoul, Korea, I had access to many theaters, museums and concert halls. After I graduated from Yang-Jae high school, I became very interested in exhibitions and musical performances, such as Wicked and Aida. Looking at the sets and the costume-designs of those plays, I was awed and inspired to recreate the memorable motifs of the performances I attended. Each event was different, so I decided to create artwork that represented those occasions through my work by using symbols or key items.

My stylistic inspiration comes from Art Nouveau or Art Deco style, using intricate, curved lines and patterns. My pieces are designed on a smaller scale so they are more functional and wearable. For the details in my pieces, I have used wax and wire since wax can create more elaborate texture and wire is more flexible than sheet metal. For the majority of my work the base metal is silver, and occasionally, I use bronze as an alternative metal or a combination of the two. I enjoy using these two materials for the combination of cool and warm temperatures from both silver and bronze. I use enamels and stones to enhance the silver, and add new dimensions to my pieces.
